Vanja‘s graphics play with a sense of scale and invite the viewer to engage on multiple levels of perception. In this way „Out of Balance“ draws the viewer into a world of lines forming a harmoniously owing pattern on the surface. Upon closer contemplation, a deeper involvement is provoked by the unfolding of the seemingly limitless dedication to detail that her drawings reveal. This graphic tangle of lines slips away from its own natural trajectory into a vast subconscious engulfment in which the unexpected is visually harmonised while leaving viewers surprised and at times even disconcerted with what they can find by directing their own attention.
